Take Your Next Step

First, I want to remind you that the church is open all this week from 6 AM - 10 PM for prayer. We will have music playing in the sanctuary if you would like to come and spend some time seeking God here on church grounds.

There were many things that received attention from the packet that was handed out a few weeks ago. The most notable thing there, the key to the whole vision as we move forward as a church body or even for the individual pursuing Christ, is the scripture - Psalm 139:23-24.

Please do not come and pray for a vote to pass or not to pass, but pray for God to search our hearts in a loving manner and be sensitive toward the things in us that He wants to deal with.

We began receiving the index cards yesterday with the written burdens that you believe God has given you. I will be praying over these everyday. In the stack of cards are burdens from people who want to have a Godly home, reach a co-worker, and some that would take them to a foreign country. Others are simply praying to have a defined purpose and assignment from God.

I want you to notice that Nehemiah did not continue on about his business in the Citadel. He could have taken the approach that many modern day believers take and he could have prayed everyday for the walls to be rebuilt, He did pray, but he put action to those prayers. We are praying for you that you will take your defined burden and define it even more. Then begin following the Holy Spirit in the specific plan he is giving you. What is your next step? Take it!

For example if you are wanting to live a Christian life, surrender to Jesus. You want a Godly home and you want to experience the love and life of God, but you have never been baptized...that might be your next step. Everyone in the Bible who came to Christ was baptized. The first physical act of obedience in surrendering a life to Christ is water baptism. We'll be baptizing Sunday, and if you are being urged by the Holy Spirit to be IMMERSED then bring a towel!

Defeat Discouragement this week by:

  1. Choosing Not to Be Afraid
  2. Rembering the LORD
  3. Fighting
