FaceTime with Jesus - S
Sunday, December 18, 2011 Pastor Randall teaches how close we can truly be to Jesus...
Psalm 23:1-6
Why do we look at the Table of the Lord like its foreign food? verse 5 says what's prepared it is for all believers.
John 4:23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.
Luke 2:15-17
What are you declairng? What you hear from the grapevine from so and so; or what you have seen first hand and heard from God.
Four Things we can Learn About Worship from the Birth of Christ
- Humility- Jesus’ birth in the stable/manger was probably the most humble of places. No extravagant pomp or circumstances. Humility is key in approaching the Savior
- Rejection- Joseph and Mary were rejected and placed out in a stable. During times of rejection our worship can be the most amazing
- Pressure- Jesus was surrounded by outside pressure. Conspiracy had begun to have him killed. The shepherds and kings showed up to worship in a very dangerous atmosphere
- Acceptance- Locals and foreigners were present at the first worship moments of the King. Outsiders are welcome. Jesus is not just King or worshiped within your city limits or 4 walls.
Despite the environment, the atmosphere, the surroundings and conditions the worship that occurred at the birth of Christ was done face to face. The shepherds themselves have a supernatural encounter with heavenly angels but still did not say a word to the world without seeing Jesus face to face.
